Show Review: Date Night NYC at Drom with Teresa Jenee

The weekend of Valentine’s Day, I was asked to help assist my friend Keya (@KeyaMaeesha) with the second installment of her music showcase she presented and hosted at DROM in NYC. Everyone KNOWS how much I dislike New York, but I was down to help because this meant easy backstage access and good seats to a wonderful show. It was three acts performing that night Brian Owens, Teresa Jenee (both from STL), and Ayah (from Toronto) headlining, which made Date Night yet another success story. Now all of the artist had their own significant style but the standout of all to me was In fact the featured artist Teresa Jene.

Show Preview: French Montana At The Rock and Roll Hotel

The next concert I attend will be French Montana at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Tuesday, February 26th.

Despite recently having his album release pushed back French Montana is still embarking on his first headlining tour. The tour is named after his debut album, Excuse My French. This will be the first stop on the tour and the show will feature fellow Coke Boy, Chinx Drugs, along with DJ Mathias and Cheyne.

I have only seen French Montana perform short sets and only in clubs so this will be a much different experience. At those shows he was really hype and performed his most popular verses but no full songs. He has some hit songs, but very few of them are solo efforts. Many of his popular songs, like Pop That and Ocho Cinco have multiple features so it will be interesting to see which one does and which ones he leaves out. I am sure he will perform his verses from popular songs he was featured on like Stay Scheming and N.B.A (Never Broke Again). He is also one of the go to guys for hooks so he may just do a few of those and not fully perform some songs.

I am not expecting much as far as stage show and production but I have never seen French in this element and I have never been to this venue so I may be surprised. I think tours like this are a good way for an artist to promote an upcoming project so hopefully French puts his best foot forward and the show is a good one. I am going to try to get there early to hear some of Chinx Drugs set since he has done a few songs I like.

Are you going to the show? Have you ever seen French Montana in concert? How was it? Let me know in the comments section.
